LED Indicators. The factory incandescent turn signals on the Chevrolet Tahoe illuminate in a slow glow, taking a moment to turn off and on. With replacement LED bulbs, you can immediately update your vehicle with the instant on-off blinking of modern LEDs. This instant activation adds a modern and distinct look to the Tahoe.
Brightness. All Diode Dynamics LED lighting is rated with accurate, measured lumen figures, not calculations or guesses. We test the true output in-house, and provide you the real numbers to compare.
Correct Color. You'll see that we offer both a red and amber option, which meet SAE/DOT "amber" and "red" requirements. If you have a clear lens or an amber reflector over the turn signal bulb on your Tahoe, amber is the correct emitter color for maximum turn signal output. If your vehicle has a red lens over the rear turn signal, then red is the correct emitter for you.
Reduced Load. When it comes to LED upgrades, you'd think the lower power draw would be a great feature! However, the Tahoe looks for a specific power draw from the turn signals. LEDs will make the vehicle think a bulb has gone out, due to lower power draw. This causes a "hyperblink," or fast-blinking turn signal, which can be corrected with LED Resistors or an LED Flasher.
The most basic, tried-and-true method to correct hyperblinking is to add resistors. Since a 6-ohm resistor uses about the same power as a standard turn signal bulb, these can be used on any vehicle, but does require tapping factory signals. One resistor is needed to replace each turn signal bulb.
You may have also heard of flasher relays, which is the actual module that determines flash speed. On some vehicles, it can be replaced with one that is designed for LED power levels. However, on many newer vehicles these modules cannot be replaced. If it's possible to replace the flasher on the Tahoe, you'll see one listed above. Only one flasher is needed per vehicle, for both front and rear LED turn signal conversions.
Reliability. Diode Dynamics LEDs are built with constant-current inductive circuitry, along with transient suppression. They are tested by our engineering team with a device that replicates years of voltage spikes, like the ones generated each time the alternator starts and stops on your Tahoe. This is what kills most LED bulbs over time, but just like factory components, Diode Dynamics LEDs are designed with built-in circuit protection. While more expensive than simple bulbs, this allows Diode Dynamics LEDs to last for years, with no flickering or failure.
Experience. After over a decade in business, Diode Dynamics is one of the most trusted names in automotive LED lighting. We directly assemble and engineer an increasing number of products in the United States, allowing for higher quality and performance, with the newest and brightest LED technology. Whether it's a Chevrolet or anything else, we pride ourselves in offering only the best possible LED solutions. Please contact us if you'd like to discuss your lighting project!
