Big Time HID Ballasts: The latest generation of XB ballasts are the best we’ve seen from Morimoto. We’re talking twice as fast warm up times and a failure rate of 1% within 2,000 hours. They were smart in moving the high voltage igniters away from the internal circuitry, eliminating failures resulting from hot strikes while providing more focused energy to the bulb so there’s never a misfire. You have the choice between 35W and 50W ballasts when configuring a headlight replacement kit or an 880 fog light HID kit. Good looking and smart, too — what more could you want?

880 HID Bulbs: The fantastic range and quality of Morimoto high intensity discharge bulbs is on full display in Elite Systems. The 880 XB HIDbulbs included in the kit are designed to produce more lumens, last longer, project farther, and give your vehicle a modern look. We tested them against industry-best Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K, and the XBs offered nearly identical levels of luminosity. How did they do it? In addition to a perfectly aligned 100% Philips Quartz glass, Morimoto used halide salts sourced from German supplier Messer for the interior capsule and Plansee electrodes from Austria to engineer this nearly perfect HID bulb.

HD Relay Harness: Unless you like flickering headlights and unreliable performance, a harness is a critical part of any HID replacement kit. Morimoto relay harnesses are among the most trusted on the aftermarket for steady voltage delivery to the ballasts. While cheaper ballasts typically only have one relay to power two headlights, the harnesses in 880 HID conversion kits utilize one per side, so there’s no chance of failure.
